Log Work (My Timesheet)

From the My Timesheet interface, you can also log work directly.

Log Work

Go to

ictime -> My Timesheet

You can log time for any issue directly from your timesheet and do not have to navigate to the issue. Just click on "Log Work".

Log Work Mask

The following interface displays in a separate window:

This chapter basically focusses on fields that are different compared to the "log work" option on the issue screen like

  • select issue,
  • select user
  • and calculation of the remaining estimate.

For general information on logging work please refer to Log Work (Issue Screen).

Select Issue

To select an issue, start to type part of the issue description or key in the "Issue" field. The JIRA issue picker will return suggestions:

This dropdown will be empty as long as you did not select an issue, as the activity types available for this issue might depend on your project configuration in ictime (see Project Activity Types). When you have selected an issue via the JIRA issue picker, the activity type dropdown will show the activity types available for the project this issue belongs to.

Add/Add & Close

You can add multiple work logs without closing the window if you click the "Add" button. If you only want to add one work log, click "Add and close".

Remaining Estimate

Please note that - contrary to Log Work (Issue Screen) - in this interface, you don't have an individual choice regarding the remaining estimate. The remaining estimate is always calculated automatically. If there is no original estimate, nothing is done.

Select User (Log Work for Other Users)

If you have the permission to log work for others, in addition you will be able to choose a different user. To select a user, start to type part of the user name, first name, last name or email in the "User" field. The JIRA user picker will return suggestions:
